TeX
TeX is a program developed in the early 1980s by Donald E. Knuth.
This program was initially designed for mathematicians and other
scientists to “typeset” (and thus maintain greater control over)
their own publications. TeX is a code-driven system, not a
point-and-click system.
We use TeX in a Windows environment. Our favored dialect is AMS-TeX.
